These words are often foreign to young adults "aging out" of foster care
across the nation and in Colorado. They've been in the "system" for years,
but once these young adults turn 18, they're left behind no place to live, no
skills to address the challenges of living on one's own, and most
importantly, no family to support them and their goals.
Each has his or her own dreams. To be a doctor, social worker, lawyer.
The dreams are there, but there's no way of realizing them without caring
people to help make it happen.
With a goal of mentoring, educating and empowering some of our
communities's most vulnerable youth, Forward Steps provides hope and
opportunity for those leaving the Foster Care system.
